• • • • • Q: What time will my favorite artist take the stage?
A: Though we try to stick to a schedule as best we can, this is mainly up to your favorite artist. Live music is not like TV; the schedules fluctuate, and not just when the President is giving a speech. If everything goes perfectly, we typically follow this general schedule:
Opener: One hour past doors*
Second Act/Headliner: 45 minutes after the opener
*Door times are listed on the detail page of every show.
Q: Where is your parking lot?
A: We do not have our own parking lot. However, like other downtown businesses, we rely on our customers to use paid parking decks, surface lots and street parking.
NOTE: in the parking lot adjacent to Toad’s Place. Although it may LQQK like our lot, it is not, and you WILL BE TOWED. In addition, do not park directly in front of the building as this is also a tow-away zone.
PARKING OPTIONSQ. When will the show end?
A: This varies from night to night depending on the performer, genre and number of bands on the bill. When we anticipate a large number of youth attendees, we schedule to have the show finished by curfew (11PM).
Also, if it is a weeknight show, we try to schedule accordingly. No promises, though…
Q: What is Gold Circle?
A: Gold Circle is a special seating area that we offer for very specific shows. The tickets for those seats are generally more expensive than the general admission tickets, but are well worth it. If it is not noted on the detail page of a show, it is not available, no matter how hard you try.
Q: My ticket has a number on it, is that a seat number?
A: Unless you have purchased a Gold Circle ticket, that number is just a count, not a seat. Some ticket stock prints the ticket number under the word “seat.” This STILL does not mean you have purchased a “seat” unless you have purchased a Gold Circle ticket, or it is an “All Reserved Seats” show.
Q: Are there regular seats?
A: No, rarely...Toad’s Place is a Standing Room Only (SRO) venue. This means that there is no real seating available. Never say never, though – check the details page for the specific show and you may find that the entire show may be seated, or that Gold Circle seats are available.
Q: So, no other seats at all?
A: Some people do sit on the benches that run along the left side of the main floor, but these are first come, first served. Patrons with special needs should call 804.648.TOAD (8623)
Q: Where are the Gold Circle seats located?
A: There are three sections with at least three rows of seats that are right up next to the stage. It’s so close you can almost touch the artist…but you shouldn’t…unless they ask you to…and sometimes not then, either.
Q: How can I get a job at Toad’s Place?
A: You have to be really REALLY cool – almost like a superhero. Though we may not always be hiring, we are always on the lookout for talented people to call when hiring time does come around. Q: Can I bring a lawn/captains/folding chair with me?
A: No, outdoor seating is NOT allowed inside the venue.
