Platinum-selling artist & Houston-based rapper Mike Jones is famous for using the 'chopped and screwed' style, where rap and hip hop tunes are slowed down and heavily remixed with scratching and skipped beats to make it sound chopped up and, er, screwed. The result is what MTV calls "a heavy, drowsy groove", where "beats and lyrics ooze lazily out of the speakers".

Mike Jones has been making his average name — and his phone number — famous since 2001. But it was his first big single, "Still Tippin,' " featuring fellow hometown heroes Paul Wall and Slim Thug, that brought the eyes of the hip-hop world to his hometown of Houston, Texas.
